Plant Phenotyping, WPS, Horticulture
Marc Knulst was recently appointed as Managing Director at WPS in De Lier, the Netherlands. WPS was founded in 1988 by Eef van Zanten and in recent decades it has made a name for itself through the development of new intelligent logistics and technical systems for pot plant breeders and researchers. Eef van Zanten, director and owner, and Marc Knulst together form the Board of Directors of WPS.
A multilayer cultivation concept, SmartFlo conveyors, large-scale climate cells and a 3D camera sorting system called Smart Scan 3D were just some of the introductions in recent years. Using new camera technology, developed by WPS in collaboration with TNO, SmartScan 3D is able to sort plants with 100 percent reliability.
Last year WPS implemented an internal reorganisation to enable it to quickly and efficiently respond to rapidly changing market conditions. This also served to further improve the principles of innovative strength, solution capacity, service and reliability.
